FRANCAIS ET SURF

BLS BIARRITZ
  • Lessons: 20 general French morning lessons + 10 surf lessons per week
  • Levels: beginner to advanced (see levels)
  • Course begins: every Monday except for beginners (see dates)
  • Timetable: 9.30 to 12.45 with a 15 minute break, Monday to Friday + 1.5 hours afternoon surf lessons. Times are subject to change according to weather conditions and tides.
  • Duration: minimum 2 weeks with no time limit

SPECIAL OFFER
Between the 5th and the 27th of July 2008 we are offering this course together with reduced price half-board accommodation in 4 bed bedrooms at the youth hostel in Biarritz. This package is offered to all students aged 20-35 years old and is subject to availablity. When all our places at the hostel are fully booked we will do our best to place students with host families. Please contact us for prices & details

Surfing Lessons

  • tailored to suit the abilities and requirements of each participant. Classes are given by certified state-approved instructors from our partner school Hastea in Biarritz
  • Groups: 8 participants maximum per monitor
  • Location: the mythical Côte des Basques beach in Biarritz (5 minutes' walk from the town centre). The beach provides surfers with a wide variety of waves suited to different abilities. Classes are sometimes held at other locations depending upon weather conditions (transport is provided by the surf school)
  • Equipment: supplied by the school (full-length or short wetsuits, boards)
  • Transport: on the first day, an instructor collects you from BLS and takes you to the beach. On other days you make your own way to the location (20 minutes by bus).

General French - objectives and methodology

  • the practice of spoken French in communicative situations and a cultural approach to the language
  • development of linguistic proficiency (written and oral expression / written and oral comprehension / interpersonal communication)
  • communicative methods combining individual development and group dynamics (group work, role plays, etc.)

Groups

  • single-level groups, 8 to 14 students maximum, ensure easy participation and a true group dynamic as well as individual attention from the teacher
